Let's make some Homemade Banana Bread! :)

We had some oldish bananas we got at the produce stand a few days ago for really cheap. So today I thought I'd make some banana bread and share the recipe with you! ;)

The recipe I'm using comes out of a book called the "Natural Foods Cookbook" by Mary Estella.

Here's the recipe, (as you can tell, it's been well used):

I did substitute some of the liquid ingredients, but not the dry. I used honey instead of maple syrup and didn't use the Cafix (just the water).

#1 Sift dry ingredients together.

#2 Mash 2 banana's.

#3 Whisk wet ingredients together.

#4 Pour wet ingredients into the dry and whisk until combined. Add bananas and mix again.

#5 Grease the bread pan and pour in the batter.

#6 Bake in the oven at 375* for about 35-45 min. Let cool in pan at least 5 min. before removing.

Enjoy a warm slice with some butter and honey! (These are pics of Laree's and my plate) ;) Mmmm...

  1. 🌲🌸 greetings !
I wanted to sincerely thank you for posting Maria Stella’s wonderful recipe for banana bread it truly is the best recipe for a number reasons first it rises so beautifully and it’s all natural which is lovely and secondly when we’ve gone gluten-free we use the same recipe and then just substitute and freshly ground brown rice flour and will add like a half a teaspoon of psyllium husk fiber or two or 3 tablespoons of Chia gel so that it works very well just like if there was wheat gluten present. Thank you again, Emily

BTW, Her cookbook that this recipe for banana bread is taken from called:
”The Natural Foods Cookbook” is one of the very best natural foods cookbooks on the market, the photos are amazing the recipes are so tried and true ~ her cornbread is just a stellar as this banana bread recipe and she explains so much it’s like a course actually and if you were to give it to someone that was interested in cooking Natural Foods it would be such a wonderful present to bestow on anyone because of all of the love, sweat and tears Mary put into this book ~ thank you Mary,
    wherever you are
